Arsene Wenger slams decision to rule Aubameyang out of Europa League

Arsene Wenger has slammed the decision to not allow January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to play in the Europa League this season.
The Gabon striker signed for the club at the end of January and was looking to help the Gunners finish the season strong.
It’s not been the greatest season but Champions League football is still achievable in the league and through the Europa League.
Though, despite being one of the favourites for the Europa trophy, Aubameyang will play no part in that campaign.
Even though Auba hasn’t played a game in the Europa League this season, UEFA have ruled that he is ineligible to play.
That is because he played for Borussia Dortmund in the group stage of the Champions League and they finished third in their group. That meant that the Germans would fall into the Europa League and officials are worried he could come up against his former side.
That lead to the decision that the player would be unable to be picked for games in the competition this season.
With Alexandre Lacazette out injured and Danny Welbeck the only fit striker, it’s safe to say that Arsene Wenger wasn’t happy.
“Unanimously I know all clubs agree now that this rule has to disappear,” he said.
“It doesn’t make sense.”
Speaking on Welbeck’s possible inclusion, the boss has explained that the player is up to scratch in terms of fitness.
?He had to wait a little to get back into the team, but that gave him time to work...
