Young Arsenal star reveals club blocked him from leaving on loan in January

Karl Hein has revealed that there were clubs interested in signing him on loan in January but Arsenal prevented him from leaving.
As Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper behind David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale, Hein is yet to make a senior appearance for the club this season, and has only featured on the bench in five Premier League games.
In fact, the 21-year-old has only played one first-team game for the Gunners: a 3-1 loss to Brighton in the Carabao Cup in November 2022, where his performance was heavily criticised.
He has made four appearances for the U21s this campaign, conceding nine goals, and previously spent six months on loan at Reading.
Hein has now claimed that he could of had another spell away from the Emirates this season but Arsenal would not sanction his departure.
Speaking to Estonian outlet Delfi, the keeper was asked whether there was ever the opportunity to go out on loan in January.
‘There was some interest, but the club didn’t let me this time,’ Hein replied.

‘I need playing time as a young goalkeeper, but right now I need to help Arsenal and that’s my responsibility and I’m happy to do it.’
