Well...this has been quite the start to Friday. According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), one of the primary detractors in bringing back Julian Nagelsmann to Bayern Munich was club legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who still carries a lot of weight in the shadows of the organization?s strategy and decisions:

Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have campaigned hard for Julian Nagelsmann at the club. He was their priority candidate. However, there were critical voices on the supervisory board. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, in particular, has spoken out against Nagelsmann.
The disagreement within Bayern didn?t give Nagelsmann a good feeling. Also because he would have had to play an active role in Bayern?s squad rebuild in parallel to the Euros, Nagelsmann turned it down and agreed with the DFB.
There continues to be a lack of one, single vision for Bayern Munich moving forward. With the coaching candidates on the market not exactly enthralling, Bayern Munich is in a very odd position with its next hire.
