Sebastian Hoeneß denies Bayern Munich links, says his future is with VfB Stuttgart

Sebastian Hoeneß is committed to his future with the Swabians, as they will very likely be in Europe next season. Bayern Munich?s search for a Thomas Tuchel replacement has taken its share of twists and turns in a very short period of time. Within the past two to three weeks, there have been different candidates that have both emerged as possibilities for the Rekordmeister, and also candidates that have effectively taken themselves out of the running by committing their futures elsewhere.
Xabi Alonso was the favored candidate after it was announced by the club that Tuchel would, in fact, be leaving after the end of this season, but the Spaniard has committed his future next season to Bayer Leverkusen. Die Werkself have been a revelation under Alonso this season and it makes complete sense that Alonso would want to stay there, at least for next season, though he was flattered by the interest from both Bayern and Liverpool, who are in search of a Jurgen Klopp successor. Julian Nagelsmann was heavily favored by board member for sport Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund, but he has extended his contract with the DFB. He will now remain Germany manager through the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. That took one more viable candidate out of the running for Bayern.
