Three observations from Bayern Munich?s entertaining 5-1 win over Union Berlin

Bayern blew off some steam against Union Berlin. Bayern Munich defeated Union Berlin 5-1 with a series of impressive finishes. The Bavarians only registered an xG of 1.86 on 19 shots, but were incredibly effective in their chances. With four different scorers, Bayern?s attack spread it around, scoring five goals for the fifth time this season.

After the grueling midweek Champions League win over Arsenal, Thomas Tuchel gave a bunch of starters the night off. Seven of today?s starters were 29 years or older, but they brought a youthful energy to the game.
The young guns fed off the veteran spirit and produced their best performances in a while. Mathys Tel found the back of the net with a cool finish, Aleksandar Pavlovi? only turned the ball over on two passes (out of 87), and Alphonso Davies attacked relentlessly as the most impactful member of the backline. Remember when Goretzka spent the COVID quarantine bulking up" His box-to-box vigor was unmatched as Bayern trucked Barcelona and Lyon on their way to a victory over PSG in the final.
Against Union Berlin, Goretzka racked up a goal, an assist, and every defensive stat imaginable while bossing the midfield for 71 minutes.
