Better luck next year... It has to be tough being a fan of the Premier League this season.
A scattered group of farmers from Bayern Munich and an over-the-hill band from Real Madrid bounced the best you had to offer. It?s true, a bunch of Germany-based hacks took out Arsenal FC and a glorified pickleball team (albeit with a couple of young ringers) sent Manchester City packing. There is no denying it...and Premier League honks had a bad day.
Now, the most unlikely of final fours is upon us. Paris Saint-Germain will take on Borussia Dortmund, while Bayern Munich will battle Real Madrid. Exactly who saw this coming" Not those blokes from the isle.
Anyway, we are making light of this situation a bit, but Manchester City was probably the better team against Real Madrid and maybe ? based on talent ? should have moved on, but Arsenal...man, what an overrated group that lacked composure. Sure, there was talent there, but that talent was not ready to win a big game. Maybe next year....
Anyway, Bayern Munich might not win the Champions League, but at least they took down the most overrated team in Europe during this run and there is something to be said for that ? even during a season as tumultuous as this one.
