Ian Maatsen Eager to Make Dortmund Move Permanent
Even though his dad thinks we are a peewee club. As Ian Maatsen?s loan spell with BVB comes near its close, it would be hard to argue his time in black and yellow has been anything but a success. When Maatsen joined BVB from Chelsea in the winter, Die Schwarzgelben were in dire need of reinforcements at full-back. In his short time with the club, he has become the undisputed left-back in Edin Terzic?s squad and established himself as a key squad member with his ball progression and tactical acumen. If reports are to be believed, Maatsen would like to pick up in the autumn where he leaves off at the end of this season: playing for BVB.
In a BILD interview, Maatsen?s father spoke about the defender?s desire to stay in Germany.
Edward Maatsens (Ian's dad):
"We are working on him staying at the club [BVB]. The clubs have to work it out between themselves. lan is developing well here and Chelsea are not doing well either since they changed owners."

Certainly Maatsen and his family will not be eager to return to Chelsea, where he has been deemed surplus to requirements several times, despite his successful loan spells.
