Post Match Reaction: Dortmund Put in Their Place by RB Leipzig

5th place is ours! For the first time since the 2014/2015 season, Borussia Dortmund will finish below 4th place. It is not mathematically confirmed yet, but Dortmund now find themselves five points behind RB Leipzig with only nine possible points left. Dortmund are almost guaranteed Champions League football for next season, but found themselves on the receiving end of a drubbing at the hands of RB Leipzig.
The match was far from pretty for anyone wearing black and yellow. A wonderful goal from Jadon Sancho in the 20th minute put the away side ahead, but Leipzig quickly responded on the other end of the field as Openda scored within three minutes and a VAR review. It was pretty much one-way traffic from this point on. Özcan was saved from embarrassment as VAR overturned a penalty to prolong Dortmund?s fate. Leipzig took control at the end of the second half. Poor corner defending and a complete mess from Gregor Kobel gave Benjamin Sesko a tap-in goal. Dortmund started the second half as they ended the first half - conceding a goal. In what was some of the worst defending anyone has seen this season, three of Dortmund?s defenders were dragged out of possession following a throw-in and Ryerson was left defending a 4 v 1 which ended in Mohamed Simakan finishing the opportunity.
