The past week or so has seen an increase in AFC Bournemouth stories in Italy as the Premier League club look to strike a couple of deals with AS Roma.
One would be for Matías Viña, who spent the second half of last season at the Vitality Stadium, while the other revolves around Justin Kluivert.
There have been varying accounts surrounding the two negotiations, but Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday seem to think work for a double coup is underway.
Roma need to sell around ?30m worth of assets before June 30th to balance the books, and having already achieved close to half of that, they are well on their way, with just the second part needed.
This is where Bournemouth would come in, as they could provide the required funding should they decide to buy both players. It?s pointed that discussions are ?advanced? between the Cherries and their Italian counterparts for the pair, but ?the right formula must be found to close the deal?.
Kluivert is valued around ?10m, while the Uruguayan left-back would cost a bit less, with a figure of ?at least half? of his ?15m option to buy needed.
That means a figure of around ?17.5m could be enough to get the two, which, added to the ?8.5m paid by Ajax for Benjamin Tahirovic and the ?12m AS Roma would get from Sassuolo for Cristian Volpato and Filippo Missori, would take the Serie A side to well above the ?30m they need.
