Bournemouth set to complete £5m January transfer – Managed to get ahead of the competition
Bournemouth are set to complete a £5m deal for LDU Quito midfielder Óscar Zambrano after moving ahead of the competition for him.
That?s according to journalist Soledad RodrÃguez, who reports he?s had the transfer confirmed to him by manager of the Albos Football Commission Diego Castro.
Zambrano has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the last year, with several sides thought to be exploring a potential move for him.
Those rumours have continued into this year, with Bournemouth suddenly put at the front of the queue for his signature in this window.
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola was even asked about the subject recently, insisting that he knew of the player but could not say anything other than that.
Soledad RodrÃguez now follows that up, reporting that Castro, away from his microphones, confirmed that Zambrano will be joining Bournemouth in a £5m deal that will also see LDU retain a percentage on the player for the future. El Universo cover his report and add that the Cherries have ?won the bid? for the Ecuadorian and ?managed to get ahead? of the competition for him, with Manchester United, Brighton and Luton all having looked at him.
They say Zambrano is considered as having the same potential as Moisés Caicedo, a statement which should make Bournemouth fans very excited indeed.
