Everton have been deducted 10 points for breaching the Premier League’s financial rules (Reuters)
Everton have fallen to 19th in the Premier League table after they were handed a 10-point deduction for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
The Toffees were charged by the Premier League in March for breaching FFP regulations after recording financial losses of £371.8 million over a three-year period when the competition?s limit is £105m.
Everton vowed to contest the charge but the Premier League announced on Friday that Sean Dyche’s side have been punished with a 10-point deduction.
That means Everton have fallen from 14th in the Premier League table to 19th, level with 20th-placed Burnley on four points but with a superior goal difference.
A statement from Everton on Friday read: ‘Everton Football Club is both shocked and disappointed by the ruling of the Premier League?s Commission.
