A draw in the league but a cup final win this week

It has been a good week for our under-21s with Monday night?s penalty shootout win against Barrow winning us last season?s Lancashire Senior Cup, but we are still looking for a first win in the Professional Development League having been held to a draw by Cardiff City last Friday.
Although we have a game in hand on all but two of the clubs, we sit next to bottom in the table with just Peterborough, beaten in all three games, behind us. Sheffield United and Fleetwood, meanwhile, match on, with both on a maximum of nine points ahead of Birmingham who currently have seven points.
That?s in the north; in the south group, it?s QPR on the maximum nine points and down at the bottom, Ipswich are the only team without a point.
There were some goals scored this week with 45 of them in ten games. Fleetwood?s 1-0 win against Ipswich was the only game with less than three goals. At the top end, Coventry beat Charlton 5-2 but leading the way were QPR with a big 7-1 away win against Peterborough with both Charlie Kelman and substitute Rayan Kolli scoring twice. On the subject of goalscorers, Sheffield United?s Louie Marsh couldn?t make it three hat tricks in the first three games. They beat Ipswich 4-2 and Marsh only scored two of them to take his total to eight goals, three more than Bailey Cadamarteri across the city at Sheffield Wednesday; he?s scored five goals.
There is a full fixture list at this level over this weekend. It kicks off tomorrow with three games including ours at Colch...
