Berge comes out on top in Arsenal shocker
In the best of team performances there is usually a stand out player and when the team is at its absolute worst, as we were last Saturday in the dreadful defeat against Arsenal, then often one player is still considered our best on the day.
That accolade, if it could even be considered that, went to midfielder Sander Berge who is way ahead in the chase to become the Up the Clarets Player of the Year, and it is the man of the match vote that has seen him take this dubious honour.
He won it with 32% of the vote with loan striker David Datro Fofana taking second place with a 19% share. Dara O?Shea, the pick of the beleaguered defence, was third with 13% while Jay Rodriguez, who came on as a substitute and showed he cared, was fourth with 11% of the vote. The player ratings were as low as they?ve ever been. Four players didn?t even reach a rating of four out of ten and only three went above the five rating for a below average performance. Those top three all had exactly the same rating which means Berge, Fofana and Rodriguez share top spot with 5.14 out of ten. The one remaining player from the top four in the man of the match vote was O?Shea and he was fourth in the ratings with 4.82 out of ten.
