Burnley win big at Bramall Lane
The Sheffield United fans call their ground Beautiful Downtown Bramall Lane but it was the Clarets who had the beautiful day yesterday with a resounding 4-1 win to move seven points clear of the Blades.
It was a strange sort of game with them the better side in the opening part of each half, but when we saw those periods through, we found scoring goals somewhat easy against the league?s leakiest defence and I?m sure would have scored even more had we gone for it in the final stages.
Jacob Bruun Larsen and Lyle Foster both scored, a first goal of 2024 for Foster, and added to that was a first Burnley goal for Lorenz Assignon and a first of the season for Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson which has taken him into double figures in the Premier League for Burnley where he joins a star studded cast of strikers Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes, Sam Vokes, Jay Roriguez and Danny Ings. It was a break with tradition for us with the journey to South Yorkshire by train from Burnley. The first train to Leeds was somewhat busy but much quieter on the second part of the journey on a train heading for Plymouth.

Today I might look as though I?ve taken a hammering from a Sheffield United fan or two, but it really was a traffic cone. It left me needing medical treatment and missing the opening few minutes of the match.
