Last month, we relayed news from France that FC Metz?s Georges Mikautadze has had several meetings with Burnley manager Vincent Kompany and AC Milan officials over a transfer this summer.
It was also stated the Clarets have made the first offer to sign the 22-year-old but the details weren?t mentioned.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has taken to Twitter to reveal that the French club have rejected Burnley?s ?15m bid for the forward.
The Georgia international impressed for Metz last season, scoring 24 goals and registering nine assists from 40 games. This was vital in helping them achieve promotion to Ligue 1.
His contract lasts until 2026.
The journalist claims Metz have set a ?20m asking price and are ?really confident? of getting this fee for their star. They are of the belief time is their ?greatest ally? as interest from more clubs would help them collect ?20m from Mikautadze?s sale.

In another tweet, Tavolieri said Kompany?s side are not alone as clubs from Italy and Germany are also in the race for the Georgian. He adds an unnamed Bundesliga side have made an offer but it?s ?way lower? than the ?15m bid made by Burnley.
