Fofana?s day in Fulham draw
David Datro Fofana had made his Burnley debut as a substitute in the 3-1 defeat at Manchester City three days earlier, setting up our goal for Ameen Al-Dakhil, and he again came on as a substitute to great effect in the home draw against Fulham.
It was just past the hour when he and Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson replaced Zeki Amdouni and Aaron Ramsey with the Clarets 2-0 down and facing a tenth home defeat of the season. Both did well but Fofana it was who scored both our goals, the second in stoppage time, to earn a point in his first Turf Moor appearance.
His half hour on the pitch had lifted us and won him both the man of the match and the player ratings and neither by a small margin either. He won 64% of the vote for the man of the match with Lorenz Assignon, making his debut at right-back, taking second place with 12%. Goalkeeper James Trafford was third with 8% while Sander Berge picked up 4% of the vote to take fourth place. The same two players took the top positions in the player ratings too with Fofana again some way clear. He rated at 7.89 out of ten to win with Assignon coming second with a rating of 6.82. The two other substitutes took the next two places. Maxime Estève had come on at half time for Hjalmar Ekdal to make his debut and he was third with a rating of 6.72 and Guðmundsson finished fourth with 6.15 out of ten.
Fofana has won the maximum ten points towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year with Assignon winning six points. There are also two points ...
