Ton up Coote back at the Turf to referee
Our home game against Bournemouth tomorrow will be refereed by David Coote who will be refereeing a Burnley game for the first time since our 3-0 home win against Blackburn Rovers last season.
It?s some time since Coote first refereed a Burnley game. We have to go back to the 3-3 home draw against Sheffield Wednesday which proved to be Eddie Howe?s final home game as Burnley manager. Coote refereed again by the end of the season and again it was a 3-3 draw, this time at Watford, the home of new manager Sean Dyche.
There were three more games in the Championship before he refereed us in the Premier League which came at Fulham early in the 2018/19 season. That total of Premier League games has now reached ten, the last of which was the 3-1 loss at home to Aston Villa in the penultimate home game of the 2021/22 season. Since, he?s just had that home game against Blackburn.
