Two players come out on top in Sheffield United win
Goalkeeper Arijanet Muric and midfielder Sander Berge were the two players who stood out in last Saturday?s 4-1 win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane with them taking the top two places in the man of the match and the player ratings.
The man of the match vote was so close with the two swapping places constantly until the vote closed with Muric on top. He won 40% of the vote with former Blade Berge not far behind with a 39% share. Lorenz Assignon, who scored his first Burnley goal before then getting an assist, came third with 13% and Josh Cullen, with just 2% of the vote, claimed fourth place.
It was Berge who came first in the ratings. His score of 8.58 out of ten has only been beaten three times all season, once each by James Trafford, Lyle Foster and Muric, and it was Muric in second place with 7.98. Cullen was third with 7.60 and substitute Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson was fourth having secured a rating of 7.53 out of ten. Both Berge and Muric have won eight points in the Up the Clarets Player of the Year Tavle and there are three points for Cullen, two for Assignon and one point for Guðmundsson. With four games remaining, the battle is on for the top places behind winner Berge. Dara O?Shea is currently second but he could be passed by Lyle Foster, Cullen or even Muric before the season ends.
The next vote will be underway on Saturday after the Manchester United game. The Sheffield United result and the current player of the year table are below.
