Under-21s back in action against Posh
Having been beaten at Sheffield Wednesday just four days ago, the undere-21s return to league action this afternoon with the visit of Peterborough United.
We go into the game in sixth place in the Professional Development League some seven points behind fifth place Fleetwood although we have a minimum of three games in hand on all the teams above us.
In our thirteen games to date, we?ve scored twenty goals and conceded the same number. In terms of our goalscoring, that?s the lowest in the entire league, other than the two bottom clubs Crewe and Colchester. However, alongside Sheffield United, ours is the best defensive record.
Our visitors today are Peterborough. They are three places below us in the table with four less points and they have played five games more than us. Like us, their most recent league game was at Sheffield Wednesday and they faired better than us, earning a point in a 2-2 draw. Their most recent victory was also against Wednesday; they beat them 1-0 back in December. They?ve won four times this season, against our five, with the first of those coming against us back in October when they surprisingly recorded a 3-1 victory, this after we?d led 1-0 from a Joe Westley goal for almost half of the game.
