Under-21s busy schedule continues at Swansea
There were three games last week for the under-21s and there are two more this week, at Swansea today followed by a home game against Bristol City this Saturday.
Recent results have seen us drop to seventh in the table but a win tomorrow could see us move up two places with us kicking off a point behind Hull and three points behind Fleetwood.
Just one win from the last six league games have seen us fall away but that largely has been due to the sheer number of games we?ve had to play and today?s game will be our seventh league or cup game in April alone. It?s meant blooding even more young players from the under-18s and even under-16s which, long term, is beneficial.
We have five league games still to play and two cup finals although we know that one of those finals, the Lancashire Senior Cup against Barrow, has been held over to next season. Our opponents Swansea are in third place in the south group and just one point behind second place QPR. Their recent form is good too. They?ve played four games in April with all four of them won in which they?ve scored fifteen goals, winning home games against Fleetwood (4-0) and Bristol City (3-1) and away games at Watford (5-0) and Peterborough (3-1).
Two of their players, Kyrell Wilson and Malik Cadogan, have scored four goals each in those four games with Glory Nzingo netting three. They?ve found goalscoring easier than most teams this season with 69 scored, a total beaten only by Millwall who have scored one more.
We?ve only play...
