Yet another home defeat for the Clarets
Burnley suffered a record breaking eleventh home league defeat of the season yesterday when Bournemouth came to Turf Moor and went home with all three points from a 2-0 win.
A first goal early in the game put us on the back foot and the second came with time running out to give Bournemouth only their second ever league win at Turf Moor and a first ever double against the Clarets.
I?m not at all sure why, but I was sort of feeling relatively confident ahead of the game. Was it because Bournemouth were in as bad a run of form as us" Was it just that it was Bournemouth and they do usually struggle at Burnley" Sometimes when you are in a bad run you get this idea that this is the day. I recall one such day in 2006 when we travelled to Derby. I was so confident that we?d win; we were 3-0 down after half an hour. I really should know better. Having met with friends in town, we were making our way to the Turf when the team news came through. We expected that it would be Josh Cullen replacing the suspended Josh Brownhill, and it was.. But there were two other changes with Vitinho returning alongside Jacob Bruun Larsen with Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson and Zeki Amdouni dropping out. It was only the second time all season that Amdouni hadn?t been in the starting eleven for a Premier League game.
