Youth team remain fifth after latest win
This is the first review of the U18 Professional Development League we?ve been able to bring you in four weeks, so we have included all the results from 20th January until yesterday?s game between Millwall and Bournemouth.
During this period, we?ve played just two league games, beating Coventry 4-0 on 27th January and winning 3-2 against Crewe last Saturday when Oli Pimlott, Ben Jordison (pictured) and Callum West scored our goals, the first two scoring their first league goals of the season.
We started this period in fifth place in the table and remain there although we have gone ahead of Coventry but fallen behind Sheffield Wednesday who have moved up to third having won three of the four games they?ve played, surprisingly losing the last of them against Sheffield United. Birmingham remain at the top and now have an eight point lead over Crewe who are second although Wednesday and Barnsley are potentially closer with nine and ten point deficits but two and three games in hand.
We are in South Yorkshire this Saturday with our away game at Sheffield United and they are currently two points behind us. A win would potentially see us climb up the league, dependent on other results, but defeat would see Sheffield Untied move ahead of us with Hull also likely to do so with them playing Fleetwood at home.
Bristol City remain top of the south group but that wouldn?t have been the case had they been beaten last Saturday. They kicked off at second place Watford with just a one point...
