Director confirms special agreement with Chelsea over player – Training alone for time being
Ecuadorian youngster Kendry Páez has travelled to join up with Chelsea with Independiente del Valle?s permission but remains their player for now.
That?s according to Independiente director Santiago Morales, who has clarified what the situation is around the youngster.
Reports over the last week have explained that Páez has travelled to link up with Chelsea and take part in various sessions with the club, as well as attend the Carabao Cup final clash with Liverpool.
It was explained that the idea for Chelsea is to get the youngster inside Cobham as much as possible so they can integrate him into the squad and the club in general ahead of arriving in 2025.
The visit did lead to some confusion about the transfer, though, and Morales has moved to explain what is exactly going on. ?Kendry Páez remains with IDV until he is 18 years old and we give travel permits,? he told Area 88, relayed by Bolavip.
?He travelled to London on Sunday to be with Chelsea, he will be in the Carabao Cup final and will return on the 26th.?
ESPN, meanwhile, explain that the trip is part of a ?program of visits? planned by Chelsea as part of the youngster?s adaptation process before moving to London in 2025.
They relay information from his mother, Jessica Andrade, who has travelled alongside him for this trip, who has confirmed that the Ecuadorian youngster did his first training session on Tuesday, but this was in an ?individual and personal way?.
