Frank Lampard opens up about Chelsea FC transfer plans in January
Frank Lampard has appeared to play down the chances of Chelsea FC making any January signings even if the club have their transfer ban lifted.
The Blues have made an impressive start to Lampard’s reign after the former England international took over the reins from Maurizio Sarri in the summer.
Chelsea FC are in fourth place in the Premier League table and six points ahead of Arsenal in the race to secure a Champions League spot.
The west London outfit have won five successive Premier League games to build significant momentum in the English top flight under Lampard.
Chelsea FC came from 4-1 down to rescue a 4-4 draw with nine man Ajax in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The Blues are level on points with Ajax and Valencia in their group as the west London side look to progress to the Champions League round of 16. Chelsea FC were banned from making any signings in the summer, although Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic arrived in pre-arranged deals.
The Blues will continue to serve their transfer ban in January unless the Premier League side manage to get their punishment overturned.
Asked by talkSPORT about potential signings in January, Lampard said:
?I will cross that bridge when I come to it. I am very happy with what I?ve got, but it is something we would always look to at Chelsea.
?Can we improve in areas and only do business if we can improve and it feels it is the right thing for the group.
?Not just personnel wise, but in the balance...
