Gary Neville offers his take on Chelsea FC’s title hopes



Gary Neville feels that it is still too early to be discussing Chelsea FC as possible challengers for the Premier League title this season.
The Blues have been earning praise for their solid start to the new campaign following Maurizio Sarri’s appointment as the club’s new manager back in July, following the dismissal of Antonio Conte.
Sarri was brought in to try and help guide the west London side back into the top four after the Blues finished fifth and won the FA Cup last term under Conte.
However, Chelsea FC’s strong start to the new campaign has left them in second place in the table and level on points with joint leaders Manchester City and Liverpool FC after eight games.
Their position in the table and an in-form Eden Hazard has inevitably prompted suggestions that the Blues could end up being one of the main challengers for the Premier League title this season. After all, the current Blues squad is not hugely different to the side that won the Premier League title in the 2016-17 campaign under Conte.
However, former Manchester United defender Neville feels that Chelsea FC cannot yet be discussed as title contenders because he thinks he has spotted some weaknesses in their recent performances.
