Conor Gallagher has stayed loyal to his beloved Chelsea by naming six of their current and former players in his favourite England XI of all-time.
But while some of his selections are obvious, a few may raise some eyebrows.
Gallagher made his Three Lions debut in 2021 and since then he’s been a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squad, winning 11 caps to date and was part of the team that went to the Qatar World Cup.
The midfielder has followed in the footsteps of many great Chelsea stars, so when asked to name his favourite England team, it was unsurprising that three club legends were included, namely John Terry, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard.
‘He [Terry] is a leader on and off the pitch and he was a great player who always put his body on the line. He could play with both feet too and is an absolute legend,’ Gallagher told the FA.
‘He [Cole] was absolutely the best left-back when he was playing. He was just so consistent, whether he was up or down the pitch. He?s a Chelsea legend as well, which helps and is an easy pick.
‘I?ve got to have Frank Lampard in there. As a Chelsea supporter, he was someone I looked up to growing up.

‘He did so much for club and country and was a world-class player. The amount of goals he scored playing from midfield is so impressive.’
