Everton’s chances of having run at manager are only increasing, reports gathering pace

At the end of last week we covered claims from Spain that former Watford manager Quique Sánchez Flores is edging towards the Espanyol exit and fancies a return to English football.
Flores almost moved to Stoke City this season but turned the club down at the last minute. Since then his position at Espanyol has been under some question and it’s thought that both club and manager are keen for a fresh start in the summer.
Everton are one of the Premier League clubs to have been most strongly linked to Flores in recent seasons and should they decide to part ways with Sam Allardyce in the summer then it would be no surprise to see the Spaniard under consideration.
Given he considered the Stoke job, Flores would likely jump at the opportunity to take over from Allardyce at Goodison Park and he could provide a brand of football which would please fans more than the former England manager has been able to. Embed from Getty Images
On Monday, Mundo Deportivo continue the talk of Flores likely leaving Espanyol in the summer.
There’s said to be ‘a lot of discomfort’ around the manager’s situation and whilst a meeting is planned with the club’s leaders, the general feeling is an exit is increasingly likely.
That would give Everton a good chance of a clear run should they wish to appoint Quique Sánchez Flores.
