Everton face threat of further punishment from Premier League after 10-point deduction

Everton could face the possibility of further punishments should their latest set of accounts also breach profit and sustainability rules, according to reports.
The Merseyside club are already reeling from their initial 10-point deduction for a breach of its profitability and sustainability rules in the period ending in the 2021-22 season.
The rules allow clubs to lose a maximum of £105million over three years or face sanctions, with a commission ruling Everton were £19.5m beyond that limit.
Everton have dropped into the relegation zone as a result of the punishment, although it could be about to get worse for Sean Dyche?s side.
According to a report in The Times, clubs can be punished for breaches in consecutive seasons, with Everton?s finances set to be investigated yet again for this year.
The latest accounts are due in March next year, although an earlier version needs to be submitted by the end of the year.
The latest three-year window would take into account this current year as well as the final two years that contributed to the initial ban.
