Enzo Maresca has been confirmed as Leicester City manager and has guaranteed that the Foxes will improve under his leadership.

The 43-year-old Italian arrives from Manchester City where he was coaching under Pep Guardiola and takes his first managerial job in England.

It is only his second time in the top job after briefly taking charge of Parma in 2021 but leaving after a short, unsuccessful stint.

Leicester will be hoping that he learned a lot from his time with City, though, having had a spell with the youth teams before going to Parma, before returning to work with the first team last year.

He intends to impose his ‘ideas and philosophy’ on Leicester, which the club will be hoping he can bring with him from the current Premier League and European champions.
‘I?m very excited because of the club and because we have a big season ahead of us,’ said Maresca.

‘At the beginning, the target is to play in the best way we can. From there, we can build, day by day, our idea and our philosophy, and the most important thing is to try to win games.

‘First of all, we?re going to give 100 per cent, absolutely, because the club deserves this. It?s our job, our duty to do that. Then, as I said, day by day, step by step, absolutely we?re going to improve.’
