Insider gives update on Liverpool FC’s bid to sign top Brazilian
Gabriele Marcotti has revealed that Liverpool FC and AS Roma are still relatively far apart in their valuations of goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
The Reds have been strongly linked with a move to bring the Brazilian goalkeeper to Anfield this summer as they bid to try and strengthen their options between the posts this summer.
Liverpool FC are thought to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer after Loris Karius’ Champions League final nightmare last month.
Alisson has long been linked with a move to Liverpool FC and he has earned a reputation as one of the top goalkeepers in Europe following his fine displays for AS Roma recently.
AS Roma have recently done business with the Reds, with Liverpool FC having signed Mohamed Salah from the Italian club last summer. Now, Italian football expert Marcotti has delivered the latest update on Liverpool FC’s apparent interest in signing the goalkeeper this summer.
Speaking to ESPN FC, Marcotti said: ?I think there is contract negotiation going on.
?From what I?ve been told, this is unlikely to get done before the World Cup, if at all.
?There?s still a lot of distance obviously between the two sides.
?Obviously the relationship between the two ownership groups, Roma and Liverpool, are very, very close, both Boston-based.
?But that said, you could argue they already helped them out last year with Mohamed Salah.
