Michael Owen states his prediction for Porto v Liverpool FC



Michael Owen believes Liverpool FC would be satisfied with a draw at Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday night.
The Reds are in third place in the Premier League table following Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win against Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday evening.
Liverpool FC are in a good run of form in the Premier League following a return of four victories and one stalemate in their last six top-flight outings.
Klopp’s side topped their Champions League group after Liverpool FC finished ahead of Sevilla with the second-highest goal tally.
Indeed, the Reds proved to be the most prolific English team in the group stage in Champions League history after their 23 goal haul surpassed treble winners Manchester United. Former Liverpool FC striker Owen believes the Reds would be content with a credible draw at the Portuguese giants ahead of Porto’s return trip to Anfield.
“Liverpool are back where they belong in the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time since the 2008/09 season,” Owen told BetVictor.
“The Reds are unbeaten in four previous ties against the Portuguese champions and I think they will make it five on Wednesday.
“Liverpool scored 23 goals in their six group games but I expect Porto to play a cagey game in the hope of taking a clean sheet back to Anfield.
