Paul Merson states his prediction for Liverpool FC v Man City

Paul Merson says he fancies Liverpool FC to cause an upset and end Manchester City’s unbeaten run in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Citizens have won 20 of their opening 22 games in the Premier League this season to amass a daunting 15-point lead at the top of the table.
Manchester City only dropped points in stalemates with Everton in their second game of the campaign before a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace during the festive schedule.
Pep Guardiola’s side were resounding 5-0 winners against Liverpool FC at the Etihad Stadium back in September, although Sadio Mane’s sending off contributed to the landslide defeat.
Liverpool FC are unbeaten at Anfield in the Champions League and the Premier League this season following nine victories and six stalemates.
Only Manchester City have scored more goals than Liverpool FC in the Premier League in the 2017-18 campaign.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson believes Jurgen Klopp’s side will end Manchester City’s bid to complete just the second unbeaten season in Premier League history. “I think Liverpool could be the team that finally beat Manchester City,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“I know Philippe Coutinho is not there anymore but they’ve still got the firepower to beat them, with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
“City haven’t won at Anfield since 2003, although you’ve got to remember what City were like back then, they’re not the team they are now that’s for sure.
“But I fancy Liverpool – I didn’t think I’d ever say that!”
Liverpool FC sold Philippe Coutinho to La Liga giants Barcelona in a deal worth an estimated 142m in the January transfer window.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term.
