Why Naby Keita chose Liverpool over Bayern Munich

Naby Keita & Liverpool
On Sunday the deal was made officially official.
Naby Keita has finally been confirmed as a Liverpool player.
Keita’s switch to Anfield has been a long affair, after the deal was announced more than six months ago.
Keita has left RB Leipzig to join the Reds. But according to Paul Joyce in the Times on Monday, Liverpool had to fight Bayern Munich to land Keita’s signature.

Why Naby Keita chose Liverpool over Bayern Munich
The first nugget dropped by the Times is that Liverpool first spotted Keita way back in 2014. At that point Keita was on the books of Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg. Liverpool first considered a move to buy Keita back in 2016. However the Reds felt the Keita deal was too taxing at that stage, so Jurgen Klopp shelled out 35 million pounds on signingGeorginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle.
Then Bayern Munich moved into the picture. The Times report the following:
Bayern Munich wanted Keta, whose first season at Leipzig marked him out as one of Europe?s up and coming talents, but Liverpool were able to make a sustained sales pitch for the best part of a year, stressing how under Klopp they were building a young, exciting squad into which he would fit seamlessly.
