Kyle Walker reveals Phil Foden’s nickname behind goal celebration after Manchester derby masterclass

Phil Foden is known as ‘The Sniper’ in the Manchester City squad, says Kyle Walker, after the England star scored two more brilliant goals in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Manchester United.
The Premier League champions found themselves behind at the Etihad after a stunning Marcus Rashford goal after just eight minutes.
Foden levelled things up 56 minutes into the contest with a brilliant left-footed strike, cutting in from the right and then he put his side ahead 24 minutes later from the inside-left channel, before Erling Haaland completed the scoring late on.
It was another fantastic performance from the 23-year-old and Walker was thoroughly impressed with ‘The Sniper’ as he shone again.
‘I think this season he’s been nothing short of first class,’ Walker told Sky Sports. ‘That’s the standard he sets for himself, that’s the standard that we set for him, the manager and the standard that he needs to keep up now.
‘We know when he comes in on his left foot…we call him The Sniper because he likes to shoot. When he comes in on that left foot you know he’s got the quialit, calmness and composure to pick his spot and I thought he took his goal fantastically well.
