Pep Guardiola says Ederson’s injury ‘doesn?t look good’ after the Manchester City goalkeeper limped off during the draw at Liverpool.
Liverpool and City played out a thrilling 1-1 draw at Anfield on Sunday, a result that means Arsenal remain top of the Premier League, but only one point separates the three title challengers.
John Stones scored the opener for the visitors but Ederson gave away a penalty just minutes after the break by fouling Darwin Nunez as the forward attempted to pounce onto a poor back pass by Nathan Ake.
The keeper guessed the right way but could not stop Alexis Mac Allister’s spot-kick from finding the top left corner.
To make matters worse for City, the foul appeared to injury Ederson who went down a few moments later and eventually he limped off in the 56th minute to be replaced by Stefan Ortega.
Speaking to beIN Sports after the game Guardiola was asked how his star keeper was, to which he simply responded: ‘It doesn?t look good.’
Pressed on the matter in his post-match press conference, the manager simply added: ‘I don’t know right now [how serious it is].
