Alan Shearer hits out at ’embarrassing’ Man United



Alan Shearer has described Manchester United as “embarrassing” following their stuttering start to the new season under Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils have found themselves under intense pressure in recent weeks following their inconsistent form in all competitions.
Manchester United have already lost three games in their opening eight fixtures this season to leave them off the pace in the race for the Premier League title.
Mourinho’s men did manage to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they came from two goals down to seal a thrilling 3-2 victory over Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the top flight.
Manchester United’s poor start to the new season has inevitably prompted questions about Mourinho’s future at the club. His side are currently in eighth place in the Premier League table and seven points behind leaders Manchester City in a campaign in which they would have been hoping to challenge for the title.
And England legend Shearer did not hold back when he delivered his assessment of the goings on at Manchester United in recent weeks.
Speaking on Match of the Day, Shearer said: “I think they all have to share the blame, the whole football club of late has been embarrassing.
“When you consider who they are, what they are, what brand they are, Manchester United. Not only front pages, but back pages. It?s clear the board hasn?t backed him, he wanted a centre-back and didn?t get it.
