Cavani tipped to have made sarcastic quip to ‘arrogant’ Man Utd colleague

Edinson Cavani will have told Manchester United teammate Anthony Martial that he is free to make attacking runs in a sarcastic comment, says one pundit.
Craig Burley was speaking after United’s narrow 1-0 win over West Brom on Saturday. Midfielder Bruno Fernandes was once again the Red Devils’ hero from the penalty spot.
The win was a crucial one for boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer; not only was it his team’s second in a row after recent criticism, but it was their first at home in the Premier League this season.
However, like Solskjaer, Burley insists that there remain issues to work on for United. Chief among them is Martial’s work rate, which several other pundits have criticised.
The Frenchman again struggled to make an impact, even when Cavani came off the bench to add further firepower. Indeed, Burley says that Cavani will have spoken strongly to his fellow forward. “Anthony Martial thinks he?s a better player than he is. It?s as simple as that,” he told ESPN (via the Manchester Evening News).
“He?s a talent but can he carry a club of this size as a striker" You see flashes of it but when Edinson Cavani came on, he must have said to him, ‘you know you?re allowed to move and make runs"’ Because he doesn?t do enough.
“On top of that his finishing wasn?t right. I think with him there?s an arrogance that it?s just going to happen, rather than make it happen, and that?s a problem.”
