Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is hopeful Luke Shaw can return quickly from injury, also revealing Alejandro Garnacho will play again before the end of the season.
Shaw started Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Brentford but was forced off after just 37 minutes with Tyrell Malacia coming onto replace him.
Offering an update on the England international, ten Hag suggested United’s medical staff are still monitoring the player ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Everton.
While he could miss the visit of Sean Dyche’s side, the Dutchman says the outlook on Shaw’s fitness is ‘quite positive’ ahead of a pivotal season run-in.
?You have to see over days how [Shaw] progresses,? ten Hag told a press conference on Friday.
?Sometimes you underestimate this injury, but I think Luke did quite well and knows his body. He went off at the right moment before getting more damage. So in this moment we are quite positive about him returning quickly.’
Garnacho meanwhile was sidelined with an ankle injury during the goalless draw with Southampton in March following a heavy challenge from Kyle Walker-Peters, later leaving the stadium on crutches.
