A brand new transfer rumour has been tabled in the Times on Wednesday: the morning after Man United were dumped out the Champions League by Sevilla.
Phil Jones had to miss the defeat to Sevilla on Tuesday night due to an injury. Indeed, injuries have dogged Jones throughout with Man United career.
And it’s now possible that Jones will never play for Man United in the Champions League again, as the defender has been linked with a summer move to Everton.

The key to the deal is Everton manager Sam Allardyce.
The Times outline why Jones could be willing to swap Old Trafford for Goodison Park because of Big Sam:
Allardyce gave Jones his professional debut at Blackburn Rovers nine years ago and wants to build a new-look defence around the player.
The pair have stayed in touch and Allardyce believes that giving Jones regular football will help him to fulfil the potential that has been hindered by his injuries.

26-year-old Jones is under contract at Man United until 2019.
However Man United also retain an option to extend Jones’s contract by another 12-months.
If Man United intend to exercise that option they’ll need to agree a new contract with the defender. That’s bound to mean upping Jones’s financial package at the Theatre of Dreams.
But will United do that" Jose Mourinho has options at the heart of his defence with Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo to chose from.
That could open the door for Everton to sign Jones this summer.
For the record, the Times fail to state how much Everton would need to pay to make the deal happen.
