Ian Wright ‘confused’ at Erik ten Hag decision in Man Utd v Coventry

Ian Wright has named the decision Erik ten Hag made that left him ‘very confused’ following Manchester United’s win over Coventry City on Sunday.
The Red Devils booked their spot in the FA Cup final for the second season in a row after a dramatic victory over the Sky Blues.
United had a three-goal cushion but Coventry sensationally battled back to 3-3 and had the better chances in extra-time, before Ten Hag’s side won on penalties.
Wright analysed the game on ITV after United’s shootout victory and couldn’t work out why Ten Hag hauled off Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
Garnacho looked frustrated as he was substituted in the 66th minute in favour of Antony while Ten Hag replaced Mainoo with Christian Eriksen six minutes later.
‘I was just very surprised to see Mainoo, I don?t know if he?s got a knock or something, but he?s somebody who can control the game or slow it down, so I was very surprised to see him coming off,’ Wright said. ‘The same with Garnacho.
‘You can talk about experience, but bringing on [Christian] Eriksen hasn?t really made much of a difference. I was bewildered.

‘You could see it descend into chaos and Coventry really came into it. Ellis Simms was causing problems, Fabio Tavares was looking good. They almost did it.’...
