Rasmus Hojlund’s tremendous run of form has continued during Manchester United’s trip to Luton, making a small but impressive piece of Premier League history in the process.
The 21-year-old took less than a minute to open the scoring for the Red Devils at Kenilworth Road, handed an opportunity by some terrible defending which he took coolly.
The Denmark international has been enjoying something of a hot streak and that goal made it six Premier League matches on the spin in which he has scored.
In doing so, he became the youngest player in Premier League history to score in six games on the spin, at just 21 years and 14 days.
That broke the record held by Newcastle’s Joe Willock who achieved the feat from April to May 2021 at 21 years and 272 days.
Erling Haaland scored in six games on the spin for Manchester City from August to October 2022 at 22 years and 73 days.
According to BBC 5 Live Sport, the only other Manchester United players to score in six successive Premier League games have been Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Eric Cantona, which is some list to join for the Dane.
