Manchester United will not sack Erik ten Hag before the end of the season despite growing pressure on the Dutchman following Sunday?s FA Cup chaos against Coventry City.
United looked to be cruising into a second consecutive FA Cup final having taken a 3-0 lead against Championship opposition thanks to goals from Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.
But another woeful capitulation allowed Coventry to score three times in 25 minutes, forcing extra time where they also struck the bar before being denied a dramatic winner after a VAR check.
United limped into next month?s final against Manchester City after winning 4-2 on penalties.
It continued a pattern of United collapsing under pressure that has effectively ended the club?s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season, surrendering leads late on against Liverpool, Chelsea and Brentford in recent weeks.
Pressure has piled on ten Hag with Jamie Carragher and Alan Shearer among the pundits effectively calling time on his reign as United boss in the wake of Sunday?s performance. Â
The Guardian report however ten Hag?s job is safe for now, with no plans to part ways with the former Ajax boss before the FA Cup final showdown against City on 25 May.
