Rasmus Hojlund has named Wayne Rooney as the Manchester United striker he would most liked to have played alongside.

The Denmark international has carried the responsibility of being United?s sole option up front for much of the season, scoring 13 times in his debut campaign.

As Rooney did when he joined from Everton in 2004, Hojlund arrived in Manchester with the weight of expectation on his shoulders following his £72million arrival from Atalanta.

Rooney would spent the next 13 years at Old Trafford, becoming a club legend and their all-time top scorer with 253 goals in 559 appearances.

And ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Robin van Persie and Andy Cole, Hojlund named the former England captain as the club great he would most relish playing alongside up top.  
?I would take Wayne to be fair. He is also like a bulldog, he likes to work, he would do a massive job for me,? Hojlund told Sky Sports.

?He’s selfish, but he also wants to play and make you better and score goals so I think we would have a nice partnership, especially with his size.
