Eddie Howe has confirmed that Kieran Trippier will miss at least two games for Newcastle United due to a calf injury.
Trippier was forced off in the second half of Newcastle’s 3-0 win against Wolves at St James’ Park last Saturday.
Newcastle play away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday before their FA Cup quarter-final tie at Manchester City on March 16.
Howe believes Trippier will not be fit for either match and is hopeful that the 33-year-old will return for Newcastle’s Premier League clash at home to West Ham on March 30.
When asked about the extent of Trippier’s injury, Howe said during his press conference on Friday: ‘Kieran is not too bad, it?s a minor injury but the scan showed enough to probably keep him out of the next two matches.

‘We hope he?ll be back after the international break but that?s not guaranteed.
‘I think there’s every chance he’ll come to both away games. He’s very keen to stay with the group and not become detached. That’s testament to his leadership.’
