Manchester United may be forced to share Dan Ashworth if they snatch him from Newcastle United, according to reports.
The 52-year-old has accepted an offer to become the first-ever sporting director at Old Trafford.
He was identified by INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the best candidate in the country for the role.
Ashworth has been placed on gardening leave and United are prepared to wait to get him rather than cave into Newcastle?s massive compensation demands.
According to the Daily Mail, it is possible that United will share their new sporting director Ashworth with the Warwickshire County Cricket Club.
Ashworth was allowed to keep his position on Warwickshire?s cricket audit committee while he worked at Newcastle.
It remains to be seen if the Red Devils will let him carry on in that role, though, ahead of his expected arrival at Old Trafford.
