Newcastle United footballer’s home targeted by burglars as he watched team play

A Newcastle United footballer has become the latest Premier League burglary victim when he was away watching another game.
Joelinton had been watching his side play Manchester City game when an alert on his phone notified him three men had entered his home.
Police were informed and quickly responded to the home with officers and a helicopter, but the burglars had fled.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: ‘Shortly before 7.30pm yesterday (Saturday) police received a call from a concerned homeowner who reported that three men were inside their home on Runnymede Road in Darras Hall.
‘Thankfully the homeowner was not home but had received a security alert on their phone and immediately reported concerns to police.
‘Police were deployed to the scene however, those alleged to be involved had fled the scene.’

It comes as Jack Grealish spoke out for the first time since his mansion was targeted by a gang of thieves while he was playing for Manchester City.
The England star?s family were at home watching the winger play in City?s win at Everton last month when robbers broke in and reportedly escaped with £1million worth of jewellery.
