ACADEMY: Half-season outlook of the Under-18s & Under-21s (Part Three)
Today is the third and final instalment of my report of every Under-18s and Under-21s player?s season so far. We?ve now reached the attackers, and there are plenty who are performing to high standards.
Elliot Myles (ST/CAM/LW) – 16-years-old – Scholarship Contract (2025)
Elliot arrived on the U18s scene, in the 2022-23 season in which he scored five goals, and accumulated two assists, with a chunk of those goals coming when he was 15. At the time of writing, Myles has now surpassed 10 G/A in the first half of the season, with all of them coming at U18s level.
Throughout the season, he has been exhilarating to watch. His ambition and proactiveness on the ball are wonderful to watch as he?s setting up golden opportunities for his teammates. Another quality element of his play this season has been his ruthless nature in front of goal, finishing emphatically on many occasions. Many supporters got their first opportunity of seeing him in a Norwich shirt during the FA Youth Cup game and he was easily their best player on the pitch.
Elliot?s consistency has been rewarded with U21s starts as early as November – highlighting the club?s endeavour to push him through the ranks. If he continues to replicate these special performances, then a future with the first team could be a possibility.
