ACADEMY: The maturing Scot who is shining for the U21s
In the summer of 2023, Gabriel Forysth joined City from Hamilton Academical in a deal thought to be worth around £150,000 to the Scottish League One club.
Since the summer, Forsyth has demonstrated consistency, which earned him a Scotland U19s call-up and has delivered healthy numbers for our U18s and U21s. He has also contributed with eight goals/assists this season with the majority of those coming at U21 level.Â
The Scotland U19s call-up was not unexpected due to his increasingly impressive performance levels, and with the player now fully settled in Norwich further international call-ups are inevitable. Despite not starting in the first friendly of the recent two-game international camp, Gabriel featured in Scotland U19’s second game against Latvia and contributed to a 4-0 win.Â
Domestically, it?s been an intense season for Forsyth who has played frequently for the U21s, as well as playing a fair proportion of games for the U18s. In total, he has played 580 minutes in the PL2 – a massive achievement for a 17-year-old as he?s playing regular U21s football as a second-year scholar.Â

Forsyth has been utilised in three different positions so far this season: left wing-back, inverted right-midfield, and central midfield. In recent weeks, he hasn?t played in central midfield often – his preferred position. Â
