It?s been three years since Uriah Djedje walked through the Lotus Training Centre doors for the first time. Since that day, the midfielder?s stock has continued to rise.
He arrived at the club aged 15 and started his Norwich City career in the Under-16s. Fast forward two seasons and the midfielder earned his first professional deal when he turned 17. It didn’t take the coaching staff long to realise Djedje’s potential.
He had only played a selection of games in the U18 Premier League before showing a high level of effectiveness for the team. Throughout the start of his U18s career, Djedje has been a wonderful resource to the team out of possession and has provided significant levels of stability across both academy sides.
His presence in central midfield has given the U18s, in particular, a massive lift, with him often having superior physical qualities to his opponents.
Uriah?s physical presence links to his biggest strength as a player – his consistency in winning a huge volume of duels in a match. He is constantly able to win back possession – sometimes as much as ten times per game.
With him having a tall body frame with a muscle mass that’s increasing all the time, the teenager is effective in getting his body in front of the ball and shrugging off opponents in the process. He is also sharp in keeping his direct number under constant pressure, helped by his long strides.
