In recent weeks it has become clear that there is a dividing line between City supporters over the direction of the club.
So I have looked at it from both angles.
One theory, supported by Delia and Michael, is for them to continue at the helm for the next three to four years. To be fair, this one comes with the not-inconsiderable caveat of Mark Attanasio working in the background with Ben Knapper on the football side of things.
But Attanasio’s increased involvement is no sudden desire on the part of the Wynn-Jones’ to hand over the reins – it is due to Michael Foulger deciding to sell his shares.
So, in reality, a continuation of the self-funding model but perhaps more of a self-funding+.
I still know of some Delia supporters but have yet to meet any other City fan who supports self-funding. Even Stuart Webber in his final days admitted that self-funding “had to change”.
Albert Einstein famously said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. Well, we learned that lesson after two brilliant Championship wins under Daniel Farke.
Farke, the true architect of those wonderful days along with a very good recruitment team under Kieran Scott, was also the fall guy for its subsequent failures in the Premier League.
